It’s day 1 of the Great Writers challenge.
Today’s topic: Declare.
And so, here I am, declaring that I am a writer, on my own blog. Of course, it seems the safest place to do it, since here, all I do is write.
I’ve always been scared of calling myself one thing or the other, for fear that others might scoff and think me crazy.
And I’ve been wondering how to format this post and what to say without it being like some weird pep talk to myself while a reader just sits and watches…and…cheers?
At any rate, I’m willing to step into these shoes–these formidable “writing shoes”–since this blog has been at the center of most of my thoughts since I launched it.
I am a writer, because writing is what I love to do. I am a writer, because I can’t help sharing my thoughts. I am a writer, because I have a right to pick up the pen.
I am a writer.
There, now I’m used to saying it.
